We routinely use off-the-shelf USB cables for debugging and testing of our designs. Whether we’re qualifying an off-the-shelf USB charger for a customer application or testing a custom design’s USB port, it’s convenient to have bare leads attached to a USB connector. With USB C, it becomes challenging to solder directly to the connector, as the pins are[…]
The team is finishing up a week of serious engineering with a thorough peer design review of principal engineer Jonny‘s 16-layer HDI PCB designed with Altium Designer and SolidWorks. At the center: a massive Xilinx, Inc. Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC (FPGA fabric + 64-bit ARM SoC) part. Two banks of DDR4 2400 MT/s memory (from Micron[…]
We are nearly finished with this prototype and manufacturing test PCB, designed with Altium Designer! This first-run prototype will be used to test the mechanical fit of connectors and the bring-up of crucial electrical circuitry.
Electronic test fixture. Mechanical design in #Solidworks, PCB design in #Altium. Fixture cut on our #Haas mill with the cam programming done with #Hsmworks.
